Solarflow Shower

Problem Statement
Electric showers fulfil daily hygiene needs but generate significant water and energy demand, and peak‑time use places pressure on the energy grid. This undermines decarbonisation targets and creates a key sustainability challenge for everyday use.

My Process & Design Intervention
Secondary research into showering practices highlighted long‑shower norms, high water use and peak‑time energy demand as key sustainability pressures. CCW’s 4‑minute shower campaign demonstrates the potential of behaviour‑change interventions. These insights informed five initial concepts
• Products (Dual Flow, Moduu) reduce demand and extend lifecycles.
• Systems (EcoLoop, Solarflow) decentralise supply and reuse.
• Services (SMARTie) monitor and reinforce behaviour.
