Problem Statement

The Family-Only Travel Platform was developed to support families with school-aged children who struggle to afford holidays during school breaks, when flight prices and holiday packages increase significantly. As a result, some parents or carers take their children out of school early or decide not to travel at all.

Family-Only Travel Platform

Description of the Project

To address this, I designed a digital platform with seven interfaces, accessible anytime from any internet-connected device. Parents or carers create an account and complete an identity verification process that requires uploading a passport or other photo ID to confirm eligibility. Once verified, they can set a budget and search for holidays within that limit. The verification system helps ensure the platform remains exclusive to families with school-aged children. The platform helps families identify affordable holiday options during school breaks, reducing financial barriers while supporting school attendance.

My Process

The Family-Only Travel Platform was developed following extensive research, supported by official statistics from reliable sources, parents’ feedback, and insights. Holiday package comparisons showed significant price increases during school holidays compared with term-time travel. The research showed that many parents or carers take their children out of school early to avoid these price hikes, which may lead to fines and negatively affect their education. The storyboard demonstrates how a family successfully accesses and uses the travel platform.
